Our 65 foot Class 3 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are treated with preservatives to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to ensure rot and decay prevention. The long term durability of a wood utility pole is one of its main benefits
These 65 ft wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields or used as utility poles. You can add 1-3 light arms per side, 2-6 in total, but no more than 3 per side. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. The number of arms and lights depends on the class of the utility pole you select. The pole length will determine how significant the taper is as with all timber utility poles.
Options Available:
Cross Arms (2-6 per pole, 1-3 per side) and Mounting Brackets. The customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after the poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.
These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.
Delivery is made with a standard flatbed truck depending on pole lengths and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload – customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at time of delivery. Installation should be done by a trained professional.
Pricing: Does not include price of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.
Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Professional-Grade 65-Foot Southern Yellow Pine Utility Pole
Built for environments where substantial height and reliable structural integrity are essential, this 65-foot Class 3 treated Southern Yellow Pine pole delivers the performance that demanding installations require. Engineered to handle demanding conditions with its CCA preservation treatment and ANSI O5.1 manufacturing standards, this direct burial pole provides 56.5 feet of above-grade height while maintaining structural stability through its 8.5-foot burial depth and robust taper design.
Why Facilities Choose This Product
- Class 3 ANSI O5.1 specification ensures consistent structural performance and load capacity
- CCA treatment provides comprehensive rot and decay prevention following American Wood Preservers Association standards
- Southern Yellow Pine construction offers natural durability and strength characteristics
- Direct burial installation eliminates the need for concrete foundations in most soil conditions
- Accommodates 2-6 cross arms total with 240-pound capacity per arm for versatile lighting configurations
- Substantial circumference measurements provide stability for multi-fixture installations
Suitable Environments
- Sports field illumination requiring significant fixture height and coverage area
- Baseball field lighting where uniform distribution across large playing surfaces is critical
- Utility applications demanding reliable pole performance in outdoor conditions
- Commercial parking lot lighting where height provides optimal light distribution
- Industrial facility perimeter lighting requiring substantial structural support
- Municipal lighting projects where long-term durability justifies the investment
Metal Halide Replacement Benefits
- Wood construction eliminates electrical conductivity concerns present with metal poles
- Natural material integrates better with landscaped environments compared to industrial metal alternatives
- Treatment process extends service life beyond typical metal pole corrosion timelines
- Direct burial capability reduces installation complexity versus metal poles requiring concrete bases
- Lower thermal conductivity prevents temperature-related expansion issues common in metal installations
- Cost-effective solution for high-capacity lighting without premium metal pole pricing
Performance & Safety
From a cost standpoint, this pole's ability to support up to six cross arms with 240 pounds per arm provides exceptional fixture capacity while maintaining structural integrity. The Class 3 rating ensures adequate strength for multi-fixture installations without oversizing the pole for typical commercial applications.
In terms of longevity, the CCA treatment process penetrates the wood fibers to create a barrier against moisture, insects, and decay organisms that typically compromise untreated wood poles. Additionally, the natural flexibility of Southern Yellow Pine helps the pole withstand wind loads and weather stress that can cause brittle materials to fail.
For most installations, the substantial burial depth of 8.5 feet creates a stable foundation that distributes ground loads effectively while the tapered design from 13.846 inches at the base measurement point to 7.321 inches at the top optimizes strength where needed most while reducing unnecessary weight and material.
Setup & Mounting
What makes this fixture valuable for buyers is the direct burial installation method that eliminates concrete foundation requirements in most soil conditions. The pole arrives ready for installation with precise burial depth markings, and the 2700-3200 pound weight provides natural stability once properly set. Cross arms and mounting brackets are available as separate components, allowing customization of the lighting configuration after pole installation. Because high-temperature environments demand reliability, all hardware connections should use corrosion-resistant materials to match the pole's treated wood longevity.
