Our 55 foot Class 2 CCA Treated Southern Yellow Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are treated with preservatives to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to ensure rot and decay prevention. The long term durability of a wood utility pole is one of its main benefits
These 55 ft wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields or used as utility poles. You can add 1-2 light arms per side, 2-4 in total, but no more than 2 per side. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. The number of arms and lights depends on the class of the utility pole you select. The pole length will determine how significant the taper is as with all timber utility poles.
Options Available:
Cross Arms (2-4 per pole, 1-2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. The customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after the poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.
These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.
Delivery is made with a standard flatbed truck depending on pole lengths and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload ? customer supplied. Customer is responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment available at time of delivery. Installation should be done by a trained professional.
Pricing: Does not include price of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.
Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. CCA treatment generally will result in the poles being free of insects for decades to come.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Premium Southern Yellow Pine Construction
Built for environments where reliable overhead support is essential, this 55-foot Class 2 Southern Yellow Pine pole delivers exceptional structural performance for demanding outdoor applications. Engineered to handle significant load requirements with its robust 2385-2815 pound construction, this direct burial pole provides 47.5 feet of above-grade height while maintaining the structural integrity that makes wood poles a preferred choice for long-term installations. The CCA treatment process ensures dependable operation in challenging weather conditions, while the natural taper design optimizes load distribution from the 25-inch circumference top to the substantial 43.5-inch circumference base.
Replacing Older Lighting Systems
When upgrading from deteriorated utility poles or inadequate support structures, this Southern Yellow Pine pole offers reliable performance that addresses common infrastructure challenges. By comparison to untreated alternatives, the CCA preservation process significantly extends service life while maintaining structural stability.
- Provides 47.5 feet of working height compared to shorter pole configurations
- Supports up to 4 cross arms versus single-arm limitations of lighter duty poles
- Accommodates 240 pounds per cross arm, enabling multiple fixture installations
- Direct burial installation eliminates concrete foundation requirements
- Class 2 rating ensures appropriate load capacity for sports lighting applications
Mounting, Setup & Controls
For most installations, the direct burial design simplifies placement while the 7.5-foot burial depth provides the necessary stability for the 47.5-foot above-grade structure. Cross arms install after delivery, allowing customization based on specific lighting requirements. The pole accepts 1-2 cross arms per side, with a maximum of 4 total arms, each rated for 240 pounds of attached fixtures and hardware. From a safety perspective, the substantial base diameter and proper burial depth create a stable platform for multi-fixture installations.
Certifications
- ANSI O5.1 specification compliance for utility pole construction
- American Wood Preservers Association standards for CCA treatment
- Class 2 structural rating for appropriate load capacity
- 1-year manufacturer warranty coverage
