Professional-Grade Fiberglass Pole for High Wind Applications

Built for environments where extreme weather conditions demand superior structural integrity, this 38-foot above grade fiberglass pole delivers the strength of a Class 2 wood pole equivalent with enhanced durability benefits. Engineered to handle demanding conditions in high wind zones, this direct burial pole provides reliable support for lighting and signage applications while offering significant advantages over traditional materials through its advanced fiberglass construction and fluoropolymer coating system.

Key Advantages

  • Advanced fiberglass construction that's stronger than equivalent steel in both compression and tension
  • Non-conductive material ensures electrical safety in all weather conditions
  • Lightweight design at 760 lbs reduces transportation and installation labor costs
  • Fluoropolymer coating with 25-year UV protection prevents degradation
  • Flexible engineering allows natural bending without breakage, returning to original form
  • Fire-resistant properties with no fuel source for flame propagation
  • Multiple color options including Bronze, Black, White, Gray, and custom finishes
  • Direct burial installation eliminates need for additional foundation work

Who This Fixture Is For

  • Municipal lighting departments managing coastal or high-wind installations
  • Commercial property managers requiring long-term durability with minimal maintenance
  • Industrial facilities in corrosive environments where rust and rot are concerns
  • Telecommunications companies needing non-conductive pole solutions
  • Transportation authorities installing roadway lighting in hurricane-prone regions
  • Utility companies upgrading from traditional wood poles in challenging climates
  • Private developers seeking reliable infrastructure for outdoor lighting projects

How It Compares to Metal Halide

Unlike traditional metal and wood pole alternatives, this fiberglass solution addresses the core weaknesses of conventional materials. By comparison, steel poles are susceptible to corrosion and require ongoing maintenance, while wood poles deteriorate through rot and insect damage. From a cost standpoint, the initial investment in fiberglass technology pays dividends through reduced replacement frequency and virtually eliminated maintenance requirements over the pole's operational life.

Major Benefits

Energy Savings

For facilities that require long-term infrastructure investments, this pole's lightweight construction reduces installation equipment needs and labor costs. Additionally, the non-corrosive properties eliminate the ongoing maintenance expenses associated with protective coatings, repairs, and premature replacements that burden traditional pole materials.

Light Output & Visibility

What makes this fixture valuable for buyers is its ability to maintain structural integrity under extreme wind loads while supporting lighting equipment reliably. The flexible design ensures lighting fixtures remain properly positioned even after significant weather events, as the pole returns to its original vertical alignment rather than suffering permanent deformation.

Operating Stability

Engineered to handle demanding conditions with wind load ratings from 142 EPA at 70 mph down to 10.5 EPA at 160 mph, this pole provides consistent performance across varying weather scenarios. In real-world use, the fiberglass construction's natural flexibility absorbs wind stress without structural failure, ensuring continuous operation when other materials might require emergency replacement.

Installation Considerations

Built with direct burial installation methodology, this pole requires a 7-foot below-grade depth for its 38-foot above-grade height. From a safety perspective, contractors benefit from the reduced weight compared to equivalent steel options, while the non-conductive properties provide additional worker protection during installation. The fluoropolymer coating arrives factory-applied, eliminating field finishing requirements and ensuring immediate weather protection upon installation.

Certifications & Ratings

  • ANSI Class 2 equivalent structural rating
  • High wind zone certification with tested EPA ratings up to 160 mph
  • Fire resistance rating with no flame propagation properties
  • UV protection coating rated for 25-year performance
