Our CCA Treated 40 Foot Wood Pole Class 3 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.

Our 40 ft round wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields, and a utility pole project. You can add up to 4 light arms per pole. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. Number of arms and lights depends on the class of pole you select. The class will determine the diameter at the base. Availability can change based on the quantity and length required as different sizes can have different lead times. Our poles are built with durability in mind to ensure long-lasting performance.

Options Available:

Cross Arms (4 per pole, 2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. Customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.

These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.

Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload ? customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.

Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.

Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.

Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Professional-Grade Wood Utility Pole for Demanding Applications

Built for environments where reliable structural support meets rigorous safety standards, this 40-foot Class 3 Ponderosa Pine pole delivers the strength and durability required for professional lighting installations. Engineered to handle demanding conditions with a total weight capacity supporting up to 4 cross arms, this treated wood pole provides 34 feet of above-grade height while maintaining the structural integrity needed for sports field lighting, utility applications, and commercial outdoor installations.

What makes this fixture valuable for buyers is its comprehensive treatment process and American manufacturing standards. With CCA pressure treatment applied to ANSI O5.1 specifications, this pole resists termites, decay, and rot while supporting up to 240 pounds per cross arm. The substantial construction features a minimum 39.5-inch circumference at 6 feet from the butt, ensuring the load-bearing capacity necessary for multi-fixture installations across demanding outdoor environments.

Comparison to Legacy Lighting

Compared to legacy fixtures and mounting solutions, this professionally treated Ponderosa Pine pole offers superior longevity and structural performance. Unlike untreated wood poles that deteriorate rapidly in outdoor conditions, the CCA treatment process extends operational life while maintaining load-bearing capacity throughout years of service.

  • Pressure-treated construction prevents premature failure from insect damage and weather exposure
  • Class 3 rating provides enhanced load capacity versus lower-class alternatives
  • Direct burial installation eliminates complex foundation requirements
  • American-grown Ponderosa Pine offers superior strength-to-weight ratio
  • ANSI O5.1 compliance ensures consistent quality and performance standards

Installation & Mounting

For facilities that require straightforward pole installation, this direct burial design simplifies the mounting process while ensuring proper structural support. The 6-foot burial depth provides the foundation stability necessary for safe operation, while the tapered design from 12.573 inches at the base to 7.321 inches at the top optimizes both strength and mounting flexibility.

  • Direct burial installation requires 6-foot excavation depth
  • Cross arms and mounting brackets available separately for custom configurations
  • Each cross arm supports up to 240 pounds of fixtures and hardware
  • Maximum 4 cross arms total with 2 per side configuration
  • Customer responsibility for cross arm mounting after delivery
  • Compatible with standard utility mounting hardware and brackets

Safety & Performance Certifications

  • ANSI O5.1 specification compliance for structural performance
  • American Wood Preservers Association treatment standards
  • CCA pressure treatment for pest and decay resistance
  • Class 3 load rating for demanding applications
  • US-grown and manufactured quality assurance

Warranty & Support

  • 1-year manufacturer warranty on materials and treatment
  • Professional-grade construction backing
