Our CCA Treated 40 Foot Wood Pole Class 1 Treated Ponderosa Pine Poles are grown, debarked, and treated in the United States. They are manufactured to ANSI O5.1 specification. Poles are pressure treated and preservative treated to the latest American Wood Preservers Association standards to prevent damage from termites, decay and rot regardless of the species used.
Our 40 ft round wood poles are perfect for sports fields, baseball fields, and a utility pole project. You can add up to 4 light arms per pole. Each arm can accommodate 240 lbs per arm. Number of arms and lights depends on the class of pole you select. The class will determine the diameter at the base. Availability can change based on the quantity and length required as different sizes can have different lead times. Our poles are built with durability in mind to ensure long-lasting performance.
Options Available:
Cross Arms (4 per pole, 2 per side) and Mounting Brackets. Customer is responsible for mounting Cross Arm after poles are delivered. Poles do not ship with cross arms attached.
These are the lights we typically mount on the cross arms. Up to 6 lights per arm, not to exceed 240 total pounds of fixtures and hardware.
Delivery is made with a flatbed truck and the customer is responsible for offloading. Offloading requires a fork lift or appropriate similar vehicle to offload ? customer supplied. Customers are responsible for any costs associated with delivery rescheduling because of improper scheduling or not having the proper offloading equipment or area to store poles available at the time of delivery. Please contact a sales representative prior to purchasing to ensure all the project details are clear.
Pricing: Does not include cost of shipping. Shipping is available to the lower 48 USA states. We can supply a budgetary shipping quote or a firm shipping quote that is good for 14 days.
Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the pole), installation costs, or foundation design of light poles. Dimensions and specifications of poles are subject to change without notice but the pole top and butt dimensions will always be within ANSI specifications. Wood poles are the ideal option for most field projects as concrete poles require more frequent maintenance and replacement.
Please be advised that our wood poles are covered solely by a 1 year-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

- CCA pressure treatment provides comprehensive protection against termites, decay, and rot
- Supports up to 4 cross arms with 240 pounds capacity per arm for extensive lighting configurations
- 27-inch minimum circumference at top maintains strength even with multiple fixture attachments
- American-grown and manufactured Ponderosa Pine offers consistent quality and availability
- Direct burial installation eliminates need for concrete foundations in many applications
Suitable Environments
- Sports facilities requiring perimeter lighting with substantial fixture loads
- Baseball and softball fields needing professional-grade illumination support
- Industrial yards where utility lighting demands reliable structural performance
- Commercial parking areas requiring elevated lighting positions
- Municipal applications where treated wood poles provide cost-effective longevity
- Rural installations where natural materials blend with surrounding environments
Metal Halide Replacement Benefits
- Robust 240-pound per cross arm capacity accommodates heavy LED fixture arrays that replace multiple metal halide units
- Substantial pole diameter supports modern lighting controls and smart systems without structural concerns
- Multiple cross arm capability allows strategic positioning of LED fixtures for optimal coverage patterns
- Class 1 construction handles wind loads from larger LED fixture housings more effectively than lighter poles
- Treated wood construction provides natural vibration dampening for sensitive electronic components
Performance & Safety
From a structural standpoint, this Class 1 pole delivers exceptional load-bearing performance with its minimum 14.323-inch diameter at 6 feet from the base, tapering to 8.594 inches at the top. The substantial circumference measurements ensure consistent strength distribution across the entire 40-foot span, while the 1000-1200 pound pole weight provides natural stability in high-wind conditions.
For most installations, the CCA treatment process offers comprehensive protection that extends operational life significantly beyond untreated alternatives. In real-world use, this preservative treatment penetrates throughout the wood structure, creating a barrier that prevents moisture intrusion and insect damage while maintaining the natural strength characteristics of Ponderosa Pine.
Additionally, the direct burial installation method reduces maintenance requirements by eliminating concrete foundation joints where water infiltration typically occurs. What makes this fixture valuable for buyers is the combination of natural material resilience with engineered treatment processes that deliver decades of reliable service with minimal intervention required.
Setup & Mounting
Installation involves direct burial to the specified 6-foot depth, which provides optimal stability while simplifying the setup process compared to foundation-dependent alternatives. Cross arms and mounting brackets are available as separate components, allowing customization of the lighting configuration to match specific application requirements. In practice, the pole's substantial base diameter and treated construction allow immediate loading once properly positioned and backfilled, though cross arm installation occurs after delivery as these components ship separately for handling efficiency.
