Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading of light fixtures or other attachments, use, or foundation design of light poles. We are solely a supplier of lighting solutions, metal halide replacement lights, and poles for parking lots. Final pole assembly is the responsibility of the purchaser. Dimensions and specifications of a round or square composite light pole are subject to change without notice. See the data sheet for current pole data charts. Custom sizing is only available for large order quantities. Pole caps are used in place of other mounting options when necessary.
Please be advised that our composite poles are covered solely by a 7-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the poles are free from defects from the manufacturing process, such as welds and structural integrity, for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Heavy-Duty Fiberglass Pole for High Wind Applications
Built for environments where extreme weather conditions demand superior structural performance, this 35-foot above-grade fiberglass pole delivers exceptional wind resistance and long-term durability. Engineered to handle demanding conditions with its 9-inch diameter construction and direct burial installation, this pole provides reliable support for lighting and utility applications in coastal areas, plains regions, and other high-wind zones where traditional materials may fail.
Key Advantages
- Superior wind load capacity with EPA ratings from 72.5 at 70 mph down to 4.7 at 160 mph
- Non-conductive fiberglass construction eliminates electrical hazard risks
- Fluoropolymer coating with 25-year UV protection prevents degradation
- Lightweight 392-pound design reduces installation labor and equipment costs
- Flexible engineering allows bending under stress without permanent damage
- Multiple color options including bronze, black, white, gray, and custom finishes
- Direct burial installation eliminates need for concrete foundations
Who This Fixture Is For
- Coastal facilities requiring hurricane and high-wind rated infrastructure
- Utility companies upgrading to non-conductive pole systems
- Industrial sites in tornado-prone regions needing flexible pole construction
- Municipal lighting projects where corrosion resistance is critical
- Remote installations where maintenance access is limited
- Commercial developments seeking long-term, low-maintenance solutions
How It Compares to Metal Halide
Unlike traditional steel or aluminum poles that rust, corrode, and conduct electricity, this fiberglass construction offers superior longevity and safety performance. What makes this fixture valuable for buyers is its ability to flex under extreme wind loads and return to original form, while metal poles may suffer permanent deformation or failure. Additionally, the non-conductive properties eliminate grounding requirements and reduce electrical safety concerns during installation and maintenance.
Major Benefits
Energy Savings
For facilities that require long-term cost management, the lightweight design significantly reduces transportation and installation expenses. Operators who need dependable infrastructure will appreciate the elimination of ongoing corrosion maintenance, painting schedules, and premature replacement costs associated with traditional metal poles.
Light Output & Visibility
With its specialized construction reaching 42 feet total height, this pole positions lighting fixtures at optimal elevation for maximum coverage area. The fluoropolymer coating maintains surface integrity over decades, preventing the chalking and discoloration that can affect reflectance and overall lighting system performance.
Operating Stability
Engineered for high performance in extreme weather conditions, the flexible fiberglass construction provides consistent support through wind events that would damage rigid alternatives. In real-world use, the pole's ability to bend and recover prevents catastrophic failure, maintaining lighting system operation when it's needed most during severe weather events.
Installation Considerations
From a cost standpoint, the direct burial design streamlines installation by eliminating concrete foundation requirements while the 7-foot burial depth ensures proper stability. The 392-pound weight allows installation with standard utility equipment rather than requiring heavy crane services. Performance-wise, proper burial depth and backfill procedures are critical for achieving the specified wind load ratings across all speed ranges.
