Disclaimer: LED Lighting Supply is not responsible for improper loading (ie what is mounted to the piling), installation costs, or foundation design of piling. Dimensions and specifications of pilings are subject to change without notice but the tip and butt dimensions will always be within ASTM specifications. While our main product line is southern yellow pine, we at times are able to offer other species including douglas fir and red pine. All poles are treated with CCA unless specified otherwise. Our standard treatment is .60 pounds per cubic foot.
Please be advised that our wood pilings are covered solely by a 1-year workmanship warranty, which ensures that the pilings are free from defects from the manufacturing process, and structural integrity, for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

Metal Halide Replacement Benefits
- Superior dimensional consistency compared to untreated timber alternatives
- Enhanced longevity through professional chemical treatment processes
- Reduced maintenance requirements versus non-treated wood pilings
- Better resistance to marine borers and environmental degradation
- Consistent taper specifications ensure predictable driving characteristics
- Professional treatment extends service life significantly over raw lumber
Performance & Safety
For facilities that require dependable structural performance, this Class B piling delivers consistent load distribution through its carefully controlled taper design. The minimum 8-inch tip diameter and 12-inch diameter specification three feet from the butt end provide optimal penetration characteristics while maintaining sufficient bearing capacity for heavy structural loads.
From a safety perspective, the 0.60 pounds per cubic foot CCA treatment creates a protective barrier against the biological factors that typically compromise untreated timber in marine environments. This chemical preservation process, applied according to American Wood Preservers Association standards, helps ensure structural integrity remains consistent throughout the piling's service life.
In terms of longevity, the Southern Yellow Pine species naturally provides excellent strength characteristics that complement the professional treatment process. The controlled weight range of 900-1000 pounds indicates proper density and moisture content, factors that directly influence both driving performance and long-term structural stability in marine applications.
Setup & Mounting
Installation teams will find that the precise dimensional specifications facilitate predictable driving characteristics during pile installation. The controlled circumference measurements - 25 inches minimum at the tip and 37 inches minimum three feet from the butt - create consistent taper angles that help ensure straight driving and proper soil displacement. Additionally, the professional debarking process eliminates surface irregularities that could complicate handling or affect driving dynamics, while the standardized treatment penetration provides uniform protection throughout the timber's cross-section.
