120 Watt Metal Halide LED Retrofit | 18600 Lumens | 400 Watt Replacement | 4000K or 5000K | 100V-277V or 277V-480V
120 Watt LED retrofit kit replaces metal halide bulbs inside your existing indoor or outdoor fixture. The retrofit kit is designed to replace Metal Halide bulbs and ballasts inside a sealed fixture. Active Cooling keeps this retrofit kit working for a very long time. This retrofit works well with existing motion sensors and photocells. It is easy to install - like doing a Metal Halide bulb and ballast replacement. You should also remove the fixture reflector and socket, as they will not be needed.

High-Output LED Retrofit Solution
Built for environments where traditional metal halide systems create maintenance burdens and energy waste, this 120-watt LED retrofit fixture delivers 18,600 lumens with exceptional efficiency. Engineered to handle demanding conditions across industrial and commercial facilities, it provides reliable illumination while consuming significantly less power than conventional lighting. With its specialized construction and wide voltage compatibility, this fixture addresses the core challenges that facility managers face when upgrading aging lighting infrastructure.
Replacing Older Lighting Systems
For facilities that require immediate improvements in both energy consumption and lighting quality, this LED retrofit eliminates the drawbacks of 400-watt metal halide fixtures. Unlike traditional lighting options, this system starts instantly without warm-up delays and maintains consistent output throughout its extended lifespan. The upgrade process delivers measurable improvements in operational efficiency while reducing the frequent lamp replacements that burden maintenance teams.
- Reduces energy consumption by approximately 70% compared to metal halide equivalents
- Eliminates warm-up time and restrike delays common in HID systems
- Provides stable color temperature without the shifting that occurs in aging metal halide lamps
- Removes ballast-related failures and associated downtime
Mounting, Setup & Controls
This model is designed for applications where flexible voltage requirements are essential, supporting both 100V-277V and 277V-480V configurations. In practice, the compact dimensions of 6.1 inches by 5.2 inches allow installation in tight spaces where larger fixtures cannot fit. From a safety perspective, the wide operating temperature range from -31°F to +131°F ensures reliable performance across diverse environmental conditions without additional thermal management.
Certifications
- ETL listed for electrical safety compliance
- Rebate eligible status helps offset initial investment costs
- Five-year warranty coverage provides long-term protection
Operational Benefits
Energy Efficiency
Designed to deliver 155 lumens per watt, this fixture maximizes light output while minimizing power consumption. The high power factor of greater than 0.90 reduces reactive power draw, which many utility companies penalize in commercial rate structures. Additionally, the low total harmonic distortion of less than 15% prevents electrical interference that can affect sensitive equipment in modern facilities.
Reliability & Durability
Built with components rated for 50,000 hours of driver operation and 100,000 hours of LED performance to L70 standards, this fixture reduces replacement frequency dramatically. In real-world use, the robust construction withstands temperature extremes and maintains consistent output without the gradual degradation typical of metal halide systems. The 4.5-pound weight reduces structural stress on mounting hardware compared to heavier traditional fixtures.
Maintenance Reduction
Operators who need dependable lighting will appreciate how this LED system eliminates the scheduled lamp changes required by metal halide fixtures. Beyond that, the solid-state design removes issues with lamp breakage, mercury disposal, and ballast failures that create unplanned maintenance calls. Performance-wise, the stable operation reduces labor costs and minimizes safety risks associated with frequent fixture servicing.
Where This Fixture Excels
- Manufacturing facilities requiring consistent illumination during production shifts
- Warehouse environments where forklift operations demand reliable overhead lighting
- Loading dock areas exposed to temperature variations and weather conditions
- Maintenance shops where color rendering supports detailed inspection work
- Parking structures needing security lighting with instant-on capabilities
- Cold storage facilities where extreme temperatures challenge conventional lighting
Performance Overview
What makes this fixture valuable for buyers is its combination of high lumen output and thermal resilience across demanding applications. The 120-degree beam angle provides broad coverage that reduces the number of fixtures needed for area lighting, while the choice of 4000K or 5000K color temperatures allows customization based on specific visual requirements. Equally important, the optional dimming capability enables energy savings during periods when full illumination is unnecessary.
- Wide voltage range accommodates different electrical systems without additional equipment
- CRI rating above 75 supports tasks requiring accurate color discrimination
- Compact form factor simplifies retrofitting existing fixture locations
- Dual frequency operation (50/60 Hz) ensures compatibility across international installations
- Extended temperature rating handles environments that defeat standard LED fixtures
